About BBD
Board by Design is the vision of artist Brad Reed Nelson who founded the design house in Aspen in 2002. BBD continues to do custom furniture and design locally and nationally from a Carbondale, Colorado studio. With a passion for contemporary product design, Brad brings a sense of humor and a serious eye for style to everything he does. His mission remains to re-digest and add to the dialogue of contemporary furniture design and culture.
Board by Design is pleased to announce Y10K, a signature body of work created for the 2010 Architectural Digest Home Design Show. Experience this exclusive collection March 18 – 21 at Booth M22.
Y10K is laced together with an innovative, humorous take on contemporary elegance. Organic woods stand as contemporary accents of playful proportion and form alongside brilliant uses of color.
The show features two collaborations: the Windsorrondack Rocking Chair and the Trough Table. The Windsorrondack by Board Britt for Board by Design (collaboration with Garner Lee Britt) presents a twist on tradition and looks toward a new standard. Contemporary materials interpret the chair’s classic lines and add a surprising flash of color. The Trough Table by Board to the Max for Board by Design (collaboration with Max Cooper) brings a painter’s vision to natural edged walnut. Storage becomes a stylish display in this premier collaboration with Max Cooper.
Brad Reed Nelson has a BFA in Functional Design from Murray State University and an MFA in Sculpture from Arizona State University.
